Chef Joe’s and Dhanny’s forty years of service industry experience and good-humored, no-nonsense advice are worth their weight in gold for couples who have chosen NYC for their destination wedding or elopement spot. Just take a look at some of Dhanny’s frank and hilarious blog entries:

My Kitchen is now in its 7th year, and Dhanny and Chef Joe’s inspiring marriage and business partnership continue to sparkle as an NYC rarity.

“We run our business to please us. We are not for everyone, nor do we compete. We are here to provide service and good food. We try to be real and honest. We wear our relationship on our sleeves with our customers. Share photos of our kids and stories of our vacations. We are real people making a living in an industry which tries to dictate your hours of business, your staffing, your menu. We stand by what we believe and we work to make a living, and if that means taking off once in a while to go to the beach, we are allowed.”

Dhanny’s advice to couples who want to have a strong, lasting marriage is to simply remember why they got married: “Because you were in love and couldn’t see yourself having fun without this person. Maybe have a kid or two. Chef and I are BEST FRIENDS before anyone else. We work hard but we play harder with each other. At the end of the day, I want someone to take care of me when I get old and so does he. Marriage is very transient nowadays. It takes work and most folks don’t want to put in the work.”

Fantastic advice from the fantastic owner of one of NYC’s best venues to have a budget-friendly wedding for under 100 people. You can book the start of your own beautiful friendship with My Kitchen, by sending an inquiry.
